Milena Katherine, BA
Therapist Intern
My name is Milena and I am a student-intern attending Lewis and Clark. I am currently in my last year of graduate school and will soon receive an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a certificate in the treatment of eating disorders. I currently hold a B.A. in psychology from California State University Northridge.
As a counselor, I intend to create a comfortable and non-judgmental environment for you where we can work together. I believe there is great importance in your life stories and the impact those storied have on you. Often times, eating disorders, body shame, food shame, and guilt are wrapped up in these stories about ourselves. Together we will unwrap these negative stories and begin to rewrite new positive ones, following the Health at Every Size (HAES) principles. These principles will help you begin to accept and love your body, embrace body diversity in self and others, eat for nutritional needs as well as hunger and pleasure, and exercise without the pressure and intention of weight loss. I look forward to supporting you in your journey towards loving food and your body.
