Job Description

Experience (and are passionate about) working with diverse individuals addressing issues around body/food/weight and trauma.

Experience with (or a willingness to learn) a Health at Every Size™ approach to body/food/weight issues.

Experience with (or a willingness to learn) an emotional approach to helping clients work with their recovery and healing.

Supervision and monthly case consultation

Perform on-site clinical counseling services to clients of Food Is Not The Enemy, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.

Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.

Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Food Is Not The Enemy.

Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Food Is Not The Enemy website. Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such clients.

Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.

Timely complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Food Is Not The Enemy or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion (by Friday of each week). Keep patient files accurate and up to date.

Charge and collect payments from clients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established by Food Is Not The Enemy.

Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Food Is Not The Enemy.

Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Food Is Not The Enemy. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.

Adolescent / Family Therapist
Food is Not the Enemy currently has an opening for a Washington-licensed mental health therapist (LCSW, LMHC, PhD, or PsyD) to provide counseling services for adolescents and/or families. This is a part-time position (at least 10 clinical hours across at least 2 days, Monday-Sunday) in an outpatient group practice setting in the Vancouver area. You will be paid a percentage of fees collected rather than a salary.

What Food is Not the Enemy needs from you:
- To be a skilled therapist.
- To be licensed in the state of Washington (registered interns and associates coming soon).
- To be trained and practiced in working with individual adults and/or adolescents.
- To enjoy consulting regularly with colleagues.
- To be ethically sound, with a good reputation and references to match.
- To be able to work independently yet collaboratively in a supportive environment.
Bonus points for:
- Ability to adeptly work with diverse populations and/or other languages.
- Having experience (and enjoying working with) adolescents, families, and/or couples.
- Having experience (and enjoying working with) clients who have eating disorders.
- Already having clinical specialties (such as EMDR).
- Technically savvy and/or willingness to learn.
