Kate is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a focus on Intuitive Eating and eating disorder nutrition therapy. Kate received her B.S. in Food and Nutrition from The University of Alabama in 2018 and her B.S. in Applied Exercise & Health from Purdue University in 2014. She has experience working with individuals who are struggling with disordered eating and poor body image, as well as leading Intuitive Eating support groups. Kate’s professional experience has given her the skills and understanding of disordered eating, but her personal experience has gifted her with the empathy and compassion necessary to help her clients.
Kate believes in and practices a weight-neutral approach with her clients, and knows that weight does not depict health nor worth. She meets her clients where they are at to help guide them to a healthier and positive relationship to food and body. In our current society, it can be easy to let diet-culture lead you to fear food and distrust your body. Nutrition therapy can help you build resiliency against diet culture’s negative messages and become more in tune with your body’s natural and individual needs so that you feel more at ease, both physically and mentally.
Kate lives in Portland with her husband and dog, Denver. She enjoys the great outdoors, especially hiking and camping with her little family, reading, coffee shops, and sharing good food and drinks with good company.
